In Memoriam: Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner, Visionary Leader and DEA Co-Founder

We are deeply saddened to inform you about the untimely loss of our friend, mentor, and colleague Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner. Philipp, distinguished as the co-founder and a board member of the Digital Euro Association (DEA), was tragically and prematurely taken from us at the tender age of 43. He leaves behind his beloved wife and two children. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family at this time of deep sorrow.

Right from its inception, Philipp was the architect of the DEA, fuelled by his unyielding passion and relentless dedication. His vast experience and extensive network were instrumental in transforming the DEA into a globally esteemed think tank in the realm of digital currencies.

Philipp's influence extended far beyond the DEA; he was a pivotal force in the blockchain sector within Germany, uniquely shaping its landscape with his profound knowledge, visionary foresight, and critical contributions. His departure marks the loss of an irreplaceable pioneer; his untimely demise creates an unfathomable void. Yet, he leaves a remarkable legacy, one that continues to inspire and galvanize us in our ongoing endeavors in the field of digital currencies.

Philipp, your absence will be profoundly felt by us all. You will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts. Rest assured, we are committed to advancing the DEA with the vision and ideals you so passionately set forth.
